Female Tennis Players Subjected to Over 12,000 Abusive Online Posts in 2025

Female tennis players were targeted with over 12,000 abusive posts and messages on social media throughout the 2025 season, according to a joint report from the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and World Tennis, powered by Signify Group’s Threat Matrix AI monitoring system.

Out of the detected abuse, 3,726 posts were categorized as serious abuse—including violent, sexual, racist, and direct personal threats.
